Location Paragraph

Welton Falls is located on the Manning Trail in Alexandria, NH. It is a beautiful waterfall with a cave that you can walk into. Also, it is very steep and it allows people to swim, and there is a big surface of rock that you can walk on, with the water streaming in front of it. Welton Falls has trees surrounded by it and you can walk down right near the waterfall, there are many rocks in the water and as well as surrounding the waterfall. Additionally, there is a big tree that hangs across the stream. There is a big cliff and then it caves in by rock with some water running down it but not to consider that a waterfall and on the other side of that concave rock is a cave. The latitude and longitude of Welton Falls is North 43.3926 degrees and 71.5150 degrees West. I walked into it and there is a great view of the water down below and there is a railing to keep people back but it has an really cool view of the water running down it. Welton Falls is a eye catching place and nice to hike to.

Place Paragraphs

Cardigan is special and different in many physical ways such as how on top of the summit, it is very windy and cold. On the summit, it is just bare rock all the way across. There is also big overhanging rocks on the summit which looks like you are standing on a cliff but then then it is just rock underneath it. Additionally, going up Cardigan there are trees with flagging. This is different and special because most trees everywhere dont blow in the wind so much that all the branches and leafs are all face one way. Also, another reason why Cardigan is very different is that there is an Alpine Bog on the mountain. For the reasons above, this is why Cardigan is physical special.

The mountains are also different and special in cultural ways too. There are trail markers on trees to mark where the trail is going, and trail signs that are up on the mountain. As well as the railings at Welton Falls, they are cultural and special. Also, the cairns that are also known as rock statues are man-made and they are special. The tower on the summit of Cardigan is special and it is cultural geography because it is big and there is not ususally a tower on a mountain. Another thing is that there are log bridges on the nature walk at the Cardigan Lodge. On Firescrew, a mountain we hiked has rocks that are made to be steps. We found a wooden ladder on the way down from Cardigan, and that is also different because there is not usually a ladder in the middle of the woods on a mountain! This is why Cardigan and Firescrew mountains are special physically and cuturally.

We Were at Cardigan on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. 3 amazing funfilled days!
