Agricultural is a major industry. Lots of people worked off of their farms and traded things that they migh have grown.

The Europeans first permanent settlement in the West Indies was in the Western Hempisphere, the city of Santo Domingo.

2. Region- What three archipelagos make up the West Indies?

The Greater Antilles, the Lesser Antilles and the Bahamas are what make up the Wast Indies.

3. History- Name four groups who have influenced the culture of the Caribbean region.

Pueto Rico, Hati, Jamaica and Cuba have all influenced the culture of the Caribbean region. There are also three types of islands that are there low islands, high islands and continental isladns. Low islands have sand and coral but no good minerals or soil. The high islands have volcaneos, some are active, some are alseep and others aer extinct. They have really good soil but no minerals. Continental islands have good minerals and soil.

4. Government- How is Cuba different from every other country in the Western Hemisphere?

Cubs is one of the world's top sugar producers and most farmers work on cooperatives. Their capital is Havana and they won independence from Spain in 1898.
