Red group (D2 B4)

I woke up the next morning to Bryce jumping off the top bunk at six in the morning and yelling at us to get up. Nobody in my room liked it very much, but nobody wanted to go back to sleep. We went down to the living area and then I was told that my group was breakfast clean up so I would have to stay after.

After cleaning up from breakfast, we made our lunches and got ready to hike. Today we would do the big hike. We hiked up both Mount Cardigan and Firescrew. Once we were out in the woods, my counselor told us that we were going to take transect at different elevations to see if different trees grew at different elevations. It turned out that different tree did grow at different elevations and our prediction was correct. This is an example of the second theme of geography, regions because different trees grew in different groups.

At the top of Firescrew my group had lunch. I packed a turkey and lettuce sandwich with a chocolate chip cookie. When we were up there, we sketched the horizon and the stuff we say in a mini pond embedded into the rocks. Once we finished that we hiked to the top of Cardigan. To get to the top we had to climb up a bare rock face that felt like it was on a 90 degree angle.

At the top Hunter almost fell of the side of the mountain and Andrew pretended to jump of the mountain and freak out the counselor. Hiking back down the mountain Aidan, Andrew and me had a debate whether rocks were dead or alive or neither. (Later to be determined by our science teacher that they were non-living). Fern also thought it would be fun to sing very long, very boring, and very annoying songs that involve us repeating everything she said.

For dinner that night we had chicken covered in mustard and bacon. It was so good. For dessert we had huge pieces of spice cake. Later that night we had a bonfire and even more repeat after me songs. After that and getting ready for bed, Mr.Woolner told us stories about his family and read from a book his brother wrote.
