Day Three
September 27
by Ashley O
I woke up on day 3 and travel from my room to the hallway the down the stairs to the living room with long couches and soft pillow as we all sat waiting for breakfast. We sat fring hot chocolate and laughing. Soon after that we ate French toast and melon, siting with all of my friedns. Looking around seeing the room was split into regions and differnt social group siting at each table. Then I trudged up the stairs, down the hallway, then walked through the sharp corner and into my room. All of my bunkmate hurried to pack our room up into duffel bags and trucks and heading down stair to our groups. We started walking to welton falls, going through the woods and the spruce region. We walked for a long time stopping to sketch and check points. It had rained the night before which made the forest bright green and slippery. The rocks slimey and the sweet smell of wet earth. As we walked farther in, there was more water, streams and little rivers fallowed us as we walked to welton falls. Around lunchtime we arrived at welton falls we explored all the rock and stream. Jumping from rock to rock trying to not slip and get to the other side. Then we sat and ate lunch on the top of the rock overlooking the waterfall. I enjoyed talking with my friend as I ate my pb&j. Then we left and started to go back. It felt like the way back was much quicker than the way there, or maybe it was because we know where we were going instead of going to the unknown. When we were 5 minutes away. Our leader had us go on solo hike by yourself one by one. The path was obvious but something inside me doubted if I was going the right way because I was by myself. As soon as we were all back from our solo hickes, we started the our 2 second hike back to the lodge and got on the bus with our bags and lugage on our teachers car, our consulers waying at at us as the bus pulled away.
