The last day of Cardigan had finally come. Most everyone had a great time up in the mountains. That day when I woke up I got dressed and walked downstairs to get hot chocolate for the last time at Cardigan. Me and my friend sat down in a rocking chair together and talked with people until breakfast was ready to eat. After we ate our breakfast, my hiking group was called together to get ready for our last day.
She gave some of us a compass, to learn how to use a compass right. We had a competition to see how to work a compass(my team won). The game was our chaperone would move around while two students would close their eyes. Once they opened their eyes, they would have to find out what angle the chaperone was at. Who ever yelled out the right coordinates first won. After we played the compass game we headed farther up the trail to learn about some trees. Then we walked up a old ski trail, only to find a old rusted car and a old ski lift. After walking back down the ski trail it was about lunchtime, so we walked back to the lodge and ate our lunch.
After we had finished eating our lunch we walked down stairs to the pond, that was hand made. Which is human environment interaction. We were doing a pond research with bugs. We caught eight different kind of bugs in all. Some of the bugs we found were cool looking. We found some frogs but we weren't allowed to touch them because our skin kills them. After we had finished are pond research, she talked to us for a while, and then we walked into the woods. When we got into the woods she told us she was going to walk down the path and put cards down. The she told the chaperone to send each student one by one and pace them out well. The hike she called it was the single nature trail hike. The cards told us to do things and then we would do them. We waited for the rest of the people to get off the trail before we got onto the bus and waved goodbye to everyone.
