The First Exciting Day

In the morning we went to school and arrived at 8 o'clock. We packed up all of our bags into Mr. Woolner's trailer. After everyone had used the bathroom we all packed up onto the bus to leave for Cardigan. After the hour long bus ride through the region of NH, we arrived at Cardigan lodge. We went to the fire pit to meet the leaders of the group. After they had talked to us about rules, we continued to go play sharks and minos. After sharks and minos we went down to Mr. Woolner's trailer to grab our bags and bring them to our rooms. After we unpacked our bags we all gathered back together and found out who our group leader was. We found our groups and then went to go on our first hike.

We were hiking to Welton Falls. At first we stopped a couple times to sketch and learn a new plant or mushroom. Then we came to this really cool overhang with broken trees and rocks down at the bottom of it. We were able to sketch the overhang and have a small snack. After we saw the overhang we started to hike again. We went through more regions of campgrounds and over rivers. At one point we walked for a while over the rocks on the river. We had reached a point where you could go down and look around inside a cave that showed part of the waterfall. There was a old broken down fense there that was supposed to make sure that you don't fall down into the rushing water. Then there was that great view of the one region of Welton Falls. It was a beautiful view from where we stood. We hiked up more after the waterfall. Then we turned back to go to the lodge.

Back at the lodge we were told that dinner was at 5:30, so we had a while to take showers or play games. When it was time for dinner we had to play trivia and the winner got to go up and make tacos. My table didn't do very well. After the filling meal of tacos we had a while to relax. We relaxed by the fire or stayed in our rooms, some went outside and played a game. After our time relaxing, our groups got back together when it was dark. My group played the cat and the mouse, when the cat was blindfolded and the mouse was running free. It was sorta like marco, polo. After we played that game we all went blindfolded through the woods holding onto each other's shoulders. We all walked back after our blindfolded walk. Then she told us to keep walking until we found her. I was the third one to go. It was creepy, we walked around a corner with a light and then into the darkness where she was posed creepily. After our scary walk she talked to us and then told us to back into the lodge to get a good night's sleep for the big day ahead of us.
