At the top of cardigan there are a lot of physical features. There are many types of trees such as American beeches, maples, spruces, hemlocks, etc. At the top of the summit was a baby spruce tree just gowning there. It was really cool see a baby tree growing in between the rocks! Also there is blueberry bushes at the top and that was cool, there were no blueberries on the bush. On Firescrew there is a lot of hemlocks in the trail or off to the side. On the mountains was many indian, those are a type of cucumber that almost tastes like a carrot. While we were on Firescrew a very rare bird flew by, it was called a merlin, those are very rare to see, you normally only see those maybe 2-3 times in a lifetime! On the welton falls trail there was a lot of the same too. Tippy toe trees are trees that the trunk is off in many sections and they look like they are your feet when your tippy toeing somewhere. It was really amazing to be able to see the different types of those and when you look up a dead one, it is fantastic with the bark inside or the roots connecting everything together before it completely falls apart. Also on that trail is a rock wall that people build very long ago so it was special to still be standing up strong at very well!
Also there are a lot of cultural features at cardigan that you first might not see but if you can recognize then it is really wonderful! Like on the summit of cardigan there is a firetower to look over all the mountains. From a distance you can see windmills on a farm made by humans to make energy for the farm and it is surroundings. Also the lodge is a cultural feature because the people build it not nature. The food at the lodge was breath-taking good, but it was made by the chef so it is also cultural feature. In the backyard of the lodge there is a firepit to sit by and sing fun songs. On the nature trail there is a big hill for skiing back in the day, when we went up that that hill we found a old broken down car and a working thing that was used to bring up skiers instead of on a chairlift. The broken down car came from a road behind the hill and it was to also bring up skiers besides the lift. Also on that trail there is line of dead trees that must of met something back in the day, it could've been a property line that people used.
We were there for 3 fantastic days day one , day two , day three
