Red Group, Day 2 Block 3
Now, a natural companion to location is place; a description of the area, physical or cultural- I will be talking about the physical side. Mt. Cardigan is a wonderful place, with semi-difficult (but not too hard) hiking trails sure to give anyone a workout, and beautiful scenery! It has amazing lakes, and a variety of plants and wildlife! It also features a truckload of rivers, flowing down the mountainside majestically. Also, it has an amazing view- at points you can see below the lowest of the clouds, your view extends for miles around. All in all, Mt. Cardigans physical geography is very majestic and unique!
Cultural geography is not about the physical STUFF of an area- it is about the people! People have done many things to Cardigan- they have added shacks, signs, and many other helpful tools! There is even a water tower at the top of the mountain, that people living in shacks near the summit would use in case of a fire. This WAS, however, a while ago, and it is not really used anymore. Also, at the AMC lodge, there are many friendly people willing to provide a mountainside shelter for anyone who wants to spend longer periods of time in the wilderness around them! The cultural geography of Cardigan is definitely an interesting and exciting one!
We were at Cardigan for 3 days, and they were Wednesday (Day 1), Thursday (Day 2), and Friday (Day 3).
