Day 1 at Cardigan

I was in the green group, as seen from the first page...
September 30
This is an old broken down car that we found along the nature trail.
The bus ride to the lodge wasn't very fun, really boring actually. I was inclined to sleep. The real excitement was when we got there, and we realized we had to unload all of our stuff into the lodge in the pouring rain. Though this did involve one of the Five Themes of Geography,Human Environment Interaction. Instead of unloading the way we had planned to, we switched to a different method. The teachers would hand us the bags and such one by one, and the kids would bring it in to the gear room. Once everything was unloaded, we went upstairs to the dining hall, where we then waited a few minutes for the instructors to introduce themselves. After that was done, we played a few fun games to make us feel at home. Next, we went upstairs to check out our bunk rooms and give our stuff somewhere to go. If I recall correctly, we then ate our bag lunches. The instructors, Robin, Tabitha, Bekah, and Hope, split us up into our hiking groups for the next three days. I was put in Robin's group.
After lunch everyone gathered up their rain and hiking gear and we all went on a nature walk. When we got back to the lodge we had some free time, which was fun. For dinner we had lasagna and salad (which was very good), and we had pudding for desert. After that Mr. Woolner then proceeded to read stories, one being about the great pirate Blackbeard, which included a memorable moment. After that everyone got ready for bed so we would be rested for the next day.
