Cardigan is just one of the many mountains in New Hampshire. It is located in Cardigan Mountain State Forest west of Alexandria and Newfound Lake and north of Grafton N.H. It borders three of seven regions of New Hampshire, and with a maximum height of 3,156', it is a regualar sized mountain. Cardigan mountain has a absolute location of 43 degrees 38 minutes 59.2620 seconds N, 71 degrees 54 minutes 53.2980 seconds W.
Cardigan is among one of the most visited areas in New Hampshire. It is located in a scenic woodland environment shared by many mountains, and at an elevation of 3,156 feet, it is a suitable height between a rocky treeline and trees that cover this mountain. While the mountain may still have tree cover near the summit, Cardigan, like other mountains, also shares a little bit of rocky maximum elevation. This bit of rocky elevation and the fact that Cardigan has trees around its summit have cuased Cardigan to be charred by larger forest fires that have occurred in the past. As a result, Cardigan has prominent ridges and rocks near connections to other mountains. At such connections, streams can flow, and through this, Cardigan, like most mountains, is habitible to wildlife because of water.
Cardigan has a natural and special environment that exists there. There is a warm feeling being there, and when inside with cabin or near a bridge there, you can almost feel a sense of belonging. When people are there, the geography of what they do is also so. People at Cardigan not only play games with one another, but they enjoy their time there and are happy. This attributes to Cardigan not only make this place special, but they also show that the cultural geography of the activities at Cardigan is positive and people enjoy their time there by playing and having fun. In all senses, Cardigan is one of those places that feels a having hot chocolate after a cold day outside; it is fun, enjoyable, and people are are kind to one another and you feel almost warm when you are there. Additionally, Cadigan also has several man-made objects and buildings in that area, inculding lodges and huts. These places are located in varying places across the mountain.
The group of students(including me) were at Cadigan for 3 days, from September 30- October 2. The days were Wednesday , Thursday, Friday.
