(Below)A picture of the pond study we did at Cardigan.

Waking up on the third day of Cardigan, I finished what I had began on my first day there. After waking up, filling with hot chocolate and dressing in warm clothes, our group hurried quickly outside to explore the pond in the pond study we were doing that day. Each of us were given a net, and with a quick dismissal, we stared into the murky silence of the supposedly abandoned pond. After a few moments of silence, a yelp was heard. Hanging in the net, to our surprise, was a frog. We quickly put it back and soon after, we had all adapted like the frog to this environment. We waded deep into the pond feeling for where to catch large creatures, and soon, like the creatures in the pond, we did not just explore the murky waters, but a theme of geography as well in that day. We later tested the water, and as we did so we really felt connections to the pond that day. And by this, we were interacting with the pond environment, and feeling the effects as well. This interaction, as a result of being one the the five themes, proved itself, as over the course of the day, we searched, learned and interacted with the pond environment there. Doing some tests about the pond in a study, and further catching more animals before going in for dinner and settling down for bed, we ended our interaction but were satisfied with our day there. |
