Some on the locations of the mountains we hiked and saw images of, have exact locations which we got! The location of Mount Firescrew is N 43 degrees 39 minutes 21.8 seconds for the latitude. For the longitude, we got W 71 degrees 54 minutes 72.9 seconds! We also got the exact location of Mount Cardigan, the latitude is N 43 degrees 38 minutes 58.8 seconds and the longitude is W 71 degrees 54 minutes 50.9 seconds. The elevation of Mount Cardigan is 3,147 feet when you are on the top of the summit. Cardigan is north to the state of New Hampshire, and some of the towns nearby are Bristol, Orange, Grafton, and Plymouth.
There are many exciting physical features at Cardigan such as the fire tower. When people lived on top of Cardigan, they would stay up there and make sure people were behaving themselves and if anything were to happen such as a fire for say. They would be there to put out the fire. A good example of the physical geography are some of the bridges on Cardigan, Fire screw, and Orange mountain. They were not naturally there, because animals can not build bridges and they do not just appear.ANother good example is the ski lift at the top of the trail when we did the scavenger hunt. They used a car battery (also on top of the mountain), to operate the ski lift which was eventually abadoned because Cardigan then became a mountain to hike on! It was brought onto the top of the ski trail and theu removed the battery from the car so they could operate the ski lift! Another great example is the lodge itself! Us humans built the lodge so we could witness nature and survive inside so we do not get attacked or sick.
Some cultural events that took place at cardigan mountain, are things such as plants trees, streams and even the animals! Animals made dens at cardigan mountain and also the lodge, while humans created things such as the lodge and the trails, and even the lodge. Cultural geography is when something is naturally occurring or grows in that specific area. Some examples of the cultural things we saw and Cardigan was the streams when we did stream study. They naturally occured there and carry food, water and other things the animals would need. If however, the streams were built into the ground like a pool, it would be man made because it did not naturally occur in that spot, it was put there.
We were there for three days, a really stormy Wednesday, a sunny Thursday and a sizzling Friday.
This is a picture of Mount Firescrews trails that I sent to my parents on a postcard!
