The next day we woke up and went downstairs for some breakfast. That morning, we had french toast, sausage, and eggs with some lemonade or hot chocolate. We also then packed our lunches for the day. We had sandwiches and a cookie, and maybe an apple or some type of fruit. After breakfast, we went upstairs to our bunk rooms and got changed for the day. Today, we were going to hike Firescrew and cut across to Cardigan. We talked about the equipment we would need for hiking, and then we filled our water bottles up, and began our hike. We found a lot of salamanders on this hike, and many ants. We hiked for almost 5 hours, but stopped every few minutes to look at a tree, or moss, or something in that nature. Hope, our group leader, somehow managed to do some bird calls, and before we knew it, we were surrounded by dozens upon dozens of birds. They all started chirping at us and we found out that was their attack mechanism in case a creature were to ever threaten them. We then stopped for lunch and learned how to do the 4 is the magic number trick. We hiked for a little longer, until we reached the 5 summits of Firescrew. We could not tell which one was the actual summit, so we got tricked multiple times. We finally got to the summit of Cardigan after a few more breaks later. When we did, it was freezing on top of Cardigan and looked like there was almost no signs of plants and or other life forms besides the little puddles of water. On the hike down, we saw actual poop, and John J ate an ant. He said it was sour. We took the old ski trail, and we even saw the old little fire house on the way back down. Zelda ended up falling down the mountain though. She was okay, but it looked painful. Once we got down to the lodge, it was freetime. I hung out in the dining area again and talked with some friends because I was tired. My group then started setting up for dinner, and it was mexican food. Joseph ate 6 tacos in 2 bites per taco. We did not get dessert that night from what I remember, but after we were done eating we went upstairs and put some warm clothes on and headed out to the campfire. We made a so called advertisement and my favorite part was when Joseph slid like 7 feet on the ground and said Cardigan lodge. We then went back to the lodge and went to bed. Movement occured in our trip because when we were hiking, we were mvoing dirt, rocks, leafs, branches, etc. We were also picking up rocks and finding salalmanders, but we then put them back into their homes. When we were hiking, we were moving around the mountain, and we had stumbbled upon a medium-sized rock near the top of Mt. Firescrew. It had been carried there by glaciers and had eventually just landed in the spot. This is another example of movement.
