This is a quiz that was found in the Sunday January 3 2010 Concord Monitor newspaper…. Answers are there, too.  You need to read the question, and… if you KNOW the correct answer, that’s good… but you must still VERIFY that correct answer.  And write out your source for that correct answer.  And, MOST importantly, I want to you also write out your thinking process- especially for the questions you do NOT know the answer to.  Can you eliminate any of the answers?  How?   And how did you search for the correct answer?  Did you search the QUESTION, or did you search the possible answers?

I’m going to use the Google Search Engine. I am going to use this search engine because I want to. I think the answer is Bahamas, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico. I use the search terms location, Bermuda, and Triangle When I searched the answer I found that the answer is actually c. Several snippets showed I used the snippet http://blog.dictionary.com/bermuda-triangle/ and found the answer.

I’m using the Bing Search Engine. I haven’t used this search engine a lot but would like to try it. I think the answer is c. Brazil. I used the search terms Capital, Located, and Pernambuco. I found that my guess c. Brazil was in fact was right. When my search popped up I found a few snippets with the same answer but I choose the website http://www.brazil.org.za/pernambuco.html.

I will be using the search engine Dog pile because I’ve never used it. I’m guessing b. 1,300 years old because it is a very antique country. I used the search terms 2010, Nara, Japan, and old When I searched and saw some snippets I found a snippet http://www.theaustralian.com.au/life/travel/past-perfect-in-nara/story-e6frg8ux-1226755094703 and that my answer is correct.

This time use the search engine DuckDuckGo. Also because I’ve never used it. I know the answer is b because I’ve studied this trash Island. Question 5.) I must compare 4 different search engines: Google, Yahoo, Bing, and DuckDuckgo because this was the project assigned. Out of 476,000 results for each, using Bing and Yahoo I found the same website http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/default.aspx?pageid=438&n=diving-into-the-secrets-of-hagia-sophia-2009-08-04  the other snippets were about a lot on the architecture of the Hagia Sophia. On Google I found snippets but this one http://www.ancient-origins.net/ancient-places-europe/underground-world-hagia-sophia-002748 really caught my eye.             I am going to use an advanced search by trying to limit the domain. I think the answer is c. American Indian reservations in the Florida Everglades because the Adirondacks sounds like a boat company that would work down in the Everglades. I honestly don’t know the answer, but I’m guessing the answer is a. The West Indies because the East Indies are out in the Ocean and the South Indies are closer to South America. I know the Caribbean is closer to Mexico the South America and that is technical West. I did indeed search it and found this snippet http://visitadirondacks.com/about/mountains and then found that my guess and long thinking helped because I got it right.
