This is a drawing of the stream that we studied.

After I had woken up everybody had breakfast and we packed up all our things. Then after breakfast everybody made their lunches. Once everyone had finished making their lunches we all started on our hike. Today we were doing a stream study. We hiked down to a stream and started to look at the stream. First we filled out a paper about what we saw and right in the middle of filling out the paper it started to downpour. we all finished our papers as fast as we could. Since it was down pouring we decided that we would try and catch some animals and place them in little containers. We were trying to catch a fish but it was too hard to see because the rain was making ripples in the water. Instead of trying to chase the fish we caught other animals like a frog, a salamander, a some water skimmers. Since it was raining really hard and we were all soaking wet, Robin decided to go back to the lodge. Tabby’s group was inside the lodge in the library in the bottom floor so we went up to the dining area. We stayed in the cabin the rest of the day and played spoons and cards. We also had lunch in the cabin. When everybody came back from their hike we all said thank you to the instructors and headed home. A theme I saw today was Movement. I noticed that all the animals that we swimming in the stream we moving down the stream because of the heavy down pours and because of the wind and amount of water in the stream.
