Day One of My Cardigan Trip

As our bus pulled into the parking lot, we saw a huge rustic, old, and white lodge which turned out to be the AMC lodge where we ate, hung out, and slept. Another thing that caught our attention was a small pond and beautiful nature.The small pond was actually an example of human environment interaction . As soon as we got off the bus, we had two instructors that played fun games with us. After the games we gathered in a circle, talked about the rules, and had our snacks. Then we started this compass activity where we had a paper telling the directions that led us to where we needed to go. In that activity, we did our first sketch of some type of a maple tree, there were six stations where we had to do that. The compass activity took quite a while, so we had lunch once we finished all six stations. The best part of the first day was getting our beds set up, in my room I had Ian, Jason, and Michael. Once we got completely ready, we hung out in the lounge area and some of us explored the building. At the end of the day, everyone had dinner and after dinner, we went on an hour long night hike. Later we settled down, Mr. Woolner read us a story about blackbeard the pirate followed by going to sleep.
