This is a quiz that was found in the Sunday January 3 2010 Concord Monitor newspaper…. Answers are there, too.  You need to read the question, and… if you KNOW the correct answer, that’s good… but you must still VERIFY that correct answer.  And write out your source for that correct answer.  And, MOST importantly, I want to you also write out your thinking process- especially for the questions you do NOT know the answer to.  Can you eliminate any of the answers?  How?   And how did you search for the correct answer?  Did you search the QUESTION, or did you search the possible answers? 

Write it out!  Be complete.  A good paragraph per answer is what we are after here…

• Use Google AND  Bing and at least 2 other search engines... any search engine you desire.  In your paragraphs, write down which search engine you used. 

• Use Search Terms that make sense.  Do NOT just type/copy the entire question.  Use Search Terms.  Use search terms that make sense.  In your paragraph, write down what search terms you used.

• Use Advanced Search methods, or at least look for .edu sites,  .gov sites   and   .com sites.  At LEAST these 3 types of sites.  You can have others, such as   .org    and    .net.    In your paragraph, write down how you searched for different domains (such as .edu, .gov .com,   etc.   Those are called “domains”.)

• And... write down the correct answer in the paragraph.  Perhaps that is the last sentence in your paragraph.

Its c  because I searched it up in yahoo and it mad it a lot easer for me to find the ancer I got half way thro typing the question and the ancer came up. yahoo is a lot easer to use  than the others.

I am going to use a different search engine. I’m using ixquick. I am using it because It has a cool name the ancer    Is not likely to be c because it is wicked old. Ixquick is a vary bad web site I searched about japans capital and not a lot came up at all. So I used google  to get my ancer because ixquick did not work. t\The ancer was B 1,300 so ya .

4. The Northern Pacific Gyre lies in the Pacific Ocean between Japan and the west coast of the United States. What does it contain?

          And for the forth we will use a nother search engine. This time I’m going to use Bing. Bing is realy good because I searched it up and the first thing that came up was wiki peida so I clicked on it and it told me what it was right away.

5. This year (in 2010)  a mosaic of an angel was discovered under the floor of the Hagia Sophia.  Where and what is the Hagia Sophia?

1. Istanbul, Turkey.  It’s a museum that previously was a Byzantine Christian Church and a mosque.
2. Luxembourg.  It’s a cathedral built to honor St. Sophia, the country’s patron saint.
3. Mexico City.  It’s a traditional market where the image of the angel is said to have healing powers.

I’m going to use wiki peda, google, yahoo and Bing. I used wiki peda and I got a Istanbul, Turkey.  It’s a museum that previously was a Byzantine Christian Church and a mosqueA lot of people think that wiki peda is bad but I think that it is not bad at all.

             Im going to use google because mr woolner told me to.The ancer is b.I went on google and I found white water rafting in  Malaysia.Google makes it rely easy to find ancers to all kinds of stuff.

               In this one I’m going to use internet explorer. The answer is b southwest England. Internet explorer sucks really bad because I had to really look for what I needed.  Internet explorer does not have the smart search like google.

In this one I’m going to use Bing because I love the name. I used Bing and it worked grate it is a lot easier than internet explorer. The answer is b Mountain range in New York state. My two favorites are google and Bing because they where built really well.

           For this one I’m going to use Answer. The answer is a The west Indies. Answer.com is not bad but I would prefer using Bing Yahoo or Google. The thing is Google, Yahoo and Bing all have the auto search unlike Answer. I think that answer.com is going down hill.

          For this one I’m going to use Bing because I Love Bing and there is nothing wrong with it. The Answer is A Quito, Ecuador because I found it on Bing.It is really easy to use Bing because it has the auto seartch and the auto search helps a lot when im trying to do my work.
