Day 1:
Upon arriving at our destination, Cardigan Lodge at the base of Mount Cardigan, The first thing we had to do was to get all of our gear out of the back of the bus and mad-dash it up to the mudroom taking up most of the bottom floor. Simple part, get stufs inside. Hard part, the fact it was torrentially downpouring on us. After all of the gear was inside, the group reassembled in the dining room. We played a varying amount of games such as epic elimination, evolution and frog detective. Next, was the ultimatum of enjoyable activities. The assignment of roommates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!!1!!1!!! After yet another amount of time involving unpacking stufs and making a general mess of the rooms (At least on the girls floor, the boys spend all their time ironing and folding their clothes neatly. :-) ) everybody re-gathered in the dining room to get assigned groups in which we shall be hiking. The group led by Tabetha (my group) met in the downstairs mud room and did a few activities involving awareness of pollution and other problems with the environment. we put the activities to use by going to the pond across the parking lot and tested what things lived in it, the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water, and the ph balance. To relax after, we took a brief walk through the woods. After that, we had the most important meal of the day! Dinner!! After a delicious dinner of lasagna and brownie sundaes, we were told a few stories by Mr. Woolner. Somewhere during the stories, Mr. Woolner broke a coffee table. anyway, after the stories, everyone went to bed and went to sleep.
