Red group, Day two Block three
This a picture of New Hampshire and it has the mountains mapped and it also shows where the Cardigan Lodge is compaired to Cardigan Mountain.
Mount Cardigan is just west of Orange Mountain at a Latitude of N 43 degrees, 38 minutes, and 58.1 seconds. The Longitude is W 71 degrees, 54 minutes, and 51.5 seconds. The peak of the mountain was an amazing place because we were 3174 feet off of the ground! Mount Cardigan is just west of Orange Mountain and Newfound lake is east. Cardigan mountain is southeast of Alexandria and Bristol.Its Location makes this mountain a very special place because it makes you feel like you are in a very safe inviornment.
Cardigan Lodge is very different because it is very old and very popular. I personally loved the food that they served and all the love that goes into it. I also really enjoyed the staff that worked there because they all had very different personalities that made the trip that much more fun. I also loved the song "O.R.T report" that we sang after every meal that we had. I also loved the bunk rooms because they were the perfect size and I loved how we were alone in the rooms so we could talk. The living room was also the perfect size for children to hang out and play. Overall Cardigan lodge is a very cozy place to hang out and go hiking.
The mountains were amazing because there was so much nature and the trails were cared for so much that you could tell that there was no trash. We learned so much about all the different kinds of trees and animals that lived in the mountains. We found scat and make a game about the different leaves and how to remember them. For example one of the leaves you used if you had to use the bathroom. We also learned about the pond that they keep clean in their backyard. We tested the oxygen level and then found some insects and used a flow chart to classify them.
The group of students (and me) were at Cardigan for three days, the days where Wednesday September 30th , October 1st and Friday October 2nd.
