On the second day at Cardigan we did our long hike. This is a picture of the top of Cardigan Mountain. This shows the hudge windmills that we could see from the distance.
The second day at Cardigan I think was the most fun out of the three. I woke up and went down stairs for breakfast they were serving eggs, bacon and orange juice. After that we went up stairs and got ready for our long hike. We met outside and started up the mountain. We ended up hiking both Fire screw and Cardigan mountain. There were quite a few people hiking the mountain along with us. That hike was about eight miles long. When we got back to the cabins we had our dinner which was Mexican food. and then went out for a bonfire. It was so much fun! we had to do a skit and then we had to listen as one of the counselors made a Barred Owl call. It didn't work as well but I heard from others that it really does work. We then went up stairs because everyone was so exhausted from our day that we all fell asleep really easily.
During the hike we found out that the fire tower on the top of Cardigan Mountain was a great example of Human Environment Interaction. This is a good example of that because humans made that statue to warn people if there was ever to be another fire so that they could prepare themselves if they needed it or needed to get in contact with another person. People put this in because there was a humongous fire that blazed off of Fire screw which is what got its name. It killed so much life that they need to keep an eye out in case something like that were to happen again.
