On the First day of Cardigan we went down to the pond and found some insects and tried to classify them, these are some of the insects that we ended up finding.
On day one of Cardigan Mountain and getting there we did some very interesting things. In the morning I woke up and got ready to go to school in order for us to depart to the bus for the ride there. As all of my friends started to get to school I realized that this trip was going to be really fun. We got onto the bus and played games with my friends until we arrived at Cardigan Lodge. There to welcome us were the camp counselors. As we made our way into the lodge we all made our way out of the mud room into the top floor which was the food and living area. We chatted for a while and started to get to know the people we were going to be with for the next three days. We started to get into playing games and eating lunch, then we took our stuff up to our rooms so we could get changed into hiking clothes. Then I met with my counselor in the mud room. After we talked for a while we started to go outside and headed down towards the lake. While we were down at the lake we learned if the lake was healthy (which it was) and if it had a lot of oxygen in it (It did). Then once we were done with that we scooped up mud to see if there was anything in it like insects or tadpoles or other stuff. We collected them and then brought them back inside so that we could figure out what they were. At about 4:30 we went for some free time which during that time I played some football on the lawn. We then went in for a delicious supper which was lasagna and my favorite bread sticks. Mr. Woolner then accompanied us to a short story about Blackbeard. We made our way up the stairs after a long day to go to sleep.
When we arrived at Mount Cardigan it was raining and the first thing that I noticed about the region was the huge lodge. It was built a long time ago and was built with pure wood. This would be the place where our group would stay and participate in games and activities. One of our activities was at the pond. We learned about many different animals that live in the pond and we learned about how each animal grows and how what it grows into. We also tested how much oxygen was in the pond by doing an experiment. The pond represents part of the region of Cardigan Mountain.
