This is a sketch that I did on the first day. This is juniper.
When we arrived at the lodge it was raining. One of the AMC leaders named Hope came on the bus to talk to us about a few things. When she was done talking we got off the bus. This is an example of movement because we were moved from the school, to the lodge and off of the bus. It was hard to get the bags out of the back of the bus. Mr. Woolner was tossing bags to us then we would run into the mud room and dropped them there. Later when we got the bags taken care of we went upstairs and played some games. Some of the games were harder then others but they were all very fun. Once we finished the games we got to go we up to our rooms and get our stuff ready for the night and the rest of the day. Once we were done we went downstairs again and ate our lunch. After we were finished with our lunch we found out who was in our group and who our leader was. My group leader was Bekah. Then we met with our group and talked about what the three days would be like and how we would treat eachother. We made a five finger contract. After we made the contract went outside and did a compass course. We would read a booklet and it would lead us to different places and things such as different trees and some objects. One thing we found was apple trees. This is also an example of movement because they weren't always there and they moved from somewhere else. We went up a hill and found an old car up and some things that may have been used for a ski lift. When we finished the course we walked on the nature trail. We saw a river and little waterfalls. After the nature trail we went back to the lodge and had free time. You could play games or go outside. When free time ended my group set up for dinner. Then we ate our dinner. Later, once we finished dinner we found out what the weight of the stuff we didn't eat was. They called it ort. Ort stands for our remaining tidbits. We had 1.7lbs for dinner. After dinner we did some night activities. We took a random color and wrote on our hand what color we thought we had. I guessed orange and got it right! Some other peole got it right too. We also did a little game of maro polo but used animal names. We didn't get to do much because our group was talking to much so we sat on the ground for a while. Then we went back inside to get changed and met back downstairs. Mr. Woolner read us some stories such as Goodnight Moon and a story about Blackbeard. Then we got ready for bed and then went to bed. That was our first day at Cardigan.
