Yellow Group

This is a picture of some of the little critters we found in the pond.

I went on Session 2 and when we got there, we had to unload everything in the rain. We had to run through the rain and try to keep everything dry. Everyone was running through the mud, trying to get stuff inside before it got drenched. Once everything was inside, everyone was brought to the dining area and we played few games to learn names. After, we brought stuff up to our rooms with our roommates and got assigned our groups for the trip. Everyone was in their groups and we all went to our own areas. My group got to go outside to check different levels of different things in the water and find critters in the pond right outside. During the testing of the water, we found that it is ideal for bugs and small animals to live in. A way that movement was shown was that since it was downhill and raining, there was soil rolling into the edge of the pond, making it easy for plants to grow on the edge. Tabitha (we called her Tabisaurous or Tabby), our AMC guide, separated us into 2 groups and had us see who could find more critters, both bugs and salamanders. Then we hiked under a mile around a then headed inside to look at our creatures found in the pond. Inside, we were allowed to have free time and some people showered. For dinner, we had lasagna and for dessert, we had ice cream with brownies. Our ORT was 1.3 pounds and we set a goal of 1 pound for the morning. For our night activity, we got back into our groups and played games. Tabby had us practice using our hearing since it was dark, like bats. She wanted us to get used to relying on other sentences then had us go to one of the bridges and told us 2 stories. We also tried to identify what color marker we grabbed randomly out of her bag and had to wire it on our hands, using our night vision. I don't think anyone in my group guessed the right color but it was still fun. Since everyone was done at the same time, we all headed inside. Mr. Woolner read a story to us about a pirate and also broke one of the coffee tables. He sent us to our rooms for lights out and we were to get up by 7:30 for breakfast.
