Mt. Cardigan is a prominent bare-rock summit, which is located in the towns of Orange and Alexandria, in western New Hampshire. The latitude of the Cardigan Lodge is N 43 degrees 38 minutes 59.6 seconds. The longitude is W 71 degrees 52 minutes 41.9 seconds. The elevation of the mountain is 3,186 ft. While my hiking group was on the top, we recorded the coordinates of the summit. We took a trail up to Firescrew. We were at Cardigan for 3 days! It was nice and sunny on Wednesday Sunday Sept. 27 and Monday Sept. 28, and a rainy tuesday Sept 29.

The AMC lodge is located at 1,400ft. The lodge contains 4 floors, when you walk in you enter the mudroom, then you go up a flight of wooden stairs and you arrive at the 2nd floor, the dining area. The next floor that you arrive at after going up the other set of wooden stairs is the 3rd floor, which is the girls floor. The floor above that is the 4th floor, with is the boys floor. On the hike we saw many things, signs, trail markers, bridges and a lot more. On the way back down to the Cardigan lodge we saw a helicopter that had tried to land on the top Mt. Cardigan. There were 4 insturctures, Hope, Robin, Becca and Tabby. They led us to cool places, and did fun things with us, such as pond studies, walk in the woods at night and more! The second night we where there we had a bonfire and preformed skits in our groups, and Becca and Tabby told us stories. While it had started misting.

There were many things that our group saw on the hike to the top of Firescrew and Mt. Cardigan. We saw a total of 21 windmills, a shadow from the clouds above trees in a short distance and more. We got to go down a ski trail on the way down and on the way we saw a first aid thing that had a first aid sled in it. It was really windy on the top of Cardigan than it was at the top of Firescrew.
