Day three at cardigan was not the shortest day but not the longest either. On that day we did a stream study on one of the various streams that surround cardigan. That day we started again at around eight thirty after a hearty breakfast. We only hiked out about .3 miles to the stream. When we got to the stream it started to rain which made the stream get a little bigger than it was at the beginning of our study. our first test on the stream was an oxygen level test. For this we got a bit of water from the stream and put it in a beaker, then we poured a little chemical mixture in it and let it sit for two minutes. The water oxygen level turned out to be fairly high a ten or eleven. After this we looked at different acidity levels in the stream. which was low. Next we looked for little critters and came up a newt and some water skimmers. We almost caught some small inch long fish but it escaped. All these tests were good examples of human environment interaction. Then after our stream study we went back in the pouring rain and played card s in the lodge. Finally, we took the bus back to school and got some rest after our fun trip.
