The Amazing Concord Monitor Quiz Project
Sub-title- A Project About “Searching” for the Correct Information.

This is a quiz that was found in the Sunday January 3 2010 Concord Monitor newspaper…. Answers are there, too. You need to read the question, and… if you KNOW the correct answer, that’s good… but you must still VERIFY that correct answer. And write out your source for that correct answer. And, MOST importantly, I want to you also write out your thinking process- especially for the questions you do NOT know the answer to. Can you eliminate any of the answers? How? And how did you search for the correct answer? Did you search the QUESTION, or did you search the possible answers?
Write it out! Be complete. A good paragraph per answer is what we are after here…

1. What are the three places that make up the points of the Bermuda Triangle?
I think the answer is going to be B. I think this because I think I remember reading about it. In Dogpile I am going to type in Bermuda Triangle location. I will be using Dogpile because it’s a funny name. When I typed this in many answers came up. I found a Web site that said that Miami, Bermuda, Puerto Rico is where its located.

I am going to use Bing for my search engine. I am going to use this search engine because you are using it. I think the correct answer is Brazil because Mr, Woolner gave a good resining for it. I am going to search Pernambuco. In Bing as soon as I typed Per Pernambuco started coming up. I scrolled through the first page of sites and found

The answer was c. Brazil I was right.
I am going to use google for my search engine. I am using google because it is a very popular and well known search engine that I usually use at home. I think it is b. because it’s in the middle of both. It also seems like an average between both. As I typed on google there were not many answers popping up. I searched Nara Japan History. Most of the Snippets had the date 710 I have to do the math 2010 minuses 710 = 1,300 my answer was right. The answer was b. 1,300 years

For number 5 I am going to compare
4 different search engines. We must do this because this way we will for sure
get the right answer I think the answer is going to be a. because a. has not
been any of the answers. In each of the bronzers there were mean snippets. On
almost all of the brozers there were some of the same
snippets. I am going to use Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Dogpile. I am going
to use these search engines to compare answers with different search engines.
In all my search engines as soon as I typed there were answers popping up. In
google there was 807,000 results. The answer in all my search engines is A. Istanbul, Turkey.

I am going to use google to do an advanced search. I am going to use google because it is a very good and common search engine. We are only going to look for domains. I typed in Kampar River Site:*.edu and many web site came up. There was a web site where you could not read the word because were faded. This web site said that B. Gopeng Malaysia is were Kampar River is located. The curect answer is Gopeng, Malaysia.

I am going to use Google because google is a very good search engine. I am going to type in Devonshire location. When I typed in Devonshire location many web sites came up. There was a Wikipedia but, that’s never a good web site to choose so I a web site that is giving me the answer b. Southwest England. That means that my guess was wrong.

google because it is my favorite search engine. First I will type in Adirondacks location. Then I will type in what is
Adirondacks. As soon as I typed Adirondacks there were many answers. There was even
an answer that said Adirondacks NY. I found a web site that said the
Adirondacks were in NY.

I will be using google. Goggle is a well known search engine that many people recommend. For this question I will type in Formal Caribbean name. I think the answer will be A. The West Indies because I remember learning about this in my old school. The answer was The West Indies. I was correct the answer was A.

For question number 10 I will use Bing. I will be using Bing because I want to mix it up a little bite. In Bing I will type in Visitors leave Galapagos Island from. I think the correct answer is A. because my best friend is from Ecuador. This site says that Ecudar is the correct answer. This means my answer was right.
