In Geography, we look at two types of location, absolute location and relative location. The absolute location refers to the longitude and latitude of the location. The absolute location of Cardigan Mountain is N 43 degrees 38 minutes 58.7 seconds, W 71 degrees 52 minutes 52.5 seconds. Relative location refers to the locations in terms of other things. Mount Cardigan is located Alexandria, New Hampshire. The relative location of Cardigan Mountain is west of Newfound Lake and Northwest of Concord, New Hampshire.
In Geography, we can look at place with respect to physical characteristics and cultural characteristics.
Mount Cardigan has many physical characteristics. The lodge sits at the base of a mountain. Multiple trails lead up the mountain and through the forest. In the forest, we saw plants, birds, and rivers. Some examples of plants we saw are white pines, maple trees, and junipers. We heard an owl. In the rivers, we saw rocks, fungi, algae, and salamanders.
Mount Cardigan is a special place. It is located far away from cities and stores. The lodge is a faded white color on the outside. The inside is a wood with four floors. On the first floor, there is the mudroom where gear is stored and a play room. The second floor is where the diningroom room and sitting room is location. The third floor is where the girls sleep and the top floor is where the boys sleep. It is a fun place to stay!
