Location: Cardigan Mountain is in New Hampshire. It is in the town of Orange. It is near Newfound Lake. The absolute location of Cardigan Mountain is 43.649730,-71.914901.

Description of place (physical and cultural): Cardigan Mountain is very tall and long. There were lots of rocks. Some of the trees were green. There where also many birch trees. The culture of the area is one of agricultural nature and small, closely-knit communities. In the lodge, wood was used from the walls to the furniture, including personal beds that are made out of wood. The Library has as well, some interesting books and some nice board games.

Day 1

I went on the bus to go to Cardigan Mountain. The drive to Cardigan was 46.8 miles. It took us about an 1 hour and 9 minutes. It was really fun and the ride was especially enjoyable. We had a tour on the first day. They have a huge dining room and kitchen. They also have a small library. We had lots of fun at the library. All of our rooms were very small. When we first got off the bus, we unloaded our stuff and then we had a house tour. We then went in our rooms and we played games in the little area near the dining room. The food was good. Mr. Woolner told us a story about Blackbeard near bedtime. The story was interesting and Mr. Woolner came up to the table and read it. He then accidentally fell off the table and broke it and everybody was very surprised. Finally, we got ready for bed late.

Day 2

When we woke up next morning, we started getting ready for the day and had a really good breakfast. After that, we went to our group members and we started hiking with my friends during hiking. The environment felt cold and windy. I went part of the way hiking and one of my teachers took me back to the house. Then I saw one of my friends there who couldn't make it all the way. I then drew some pictures of different kinds of leaves on the hike. I saw one of my friends at the pond and my teacher and I started walking to the pond and took a break and it was really fun at the pond. One of my friends and I, went on a small hike with two of our teachers and it was very calming, but it wasn't a long hike. Then after the small hike, we went inside of the cabin and found that nobody was there yet and so we decided to go into the library and my friend and I started playing some board games, read books and played puzzles before dinner. At dinner, we had Tacos and they were really good. Later that night, we went to the back yard from the house and we went near the fire pit. While we were at the fireplace, we tried to make owl calls but no owls called back. When the camp fire was still going, my group members and I had a Play and we were called the Schmovers and every group member did a Play and it was lots of fun. Then we got ready for bed.

Day 3

On day 3, we had a really good breakfast. We went on a longer hike on day 2. It was a very long hike; it had lakes and it was very rocky as I climbed up the hill. My friends and I who were in the group, played Sharks and Meadows and it was lots of fun. After we played games, we went on the bus and everybody was very noisy on the way back to the high school. I had really lots of fun at the trip.
