Day 2 Block 2 Region

The picture above shows the snake that we saw on the first day.

The picture above shows the brook where we did a water study.

We did many things on our first day at the Cardigan Lodge. First, we all loaded the bus from HMHS. After leaving the Merrimack Valley Region, we ended up in the Lakes Region after being on a bus for a hour or so. Once we got to the lodge, we went to the campfire/field region at the lodge to play games with the two AMC counselors Becka and Robin. One of the games that we played was that we had to run in a circle and then crawl under each other's legs to get a sneaker and whatever team got the sneaker the most, won. After we were done with our games, we went on a little hike to do a stream study with our group and counselors. We got to sketch the stream, catch some water bugs and other kinds of creatures, and we also got to see how much chemical and things were in the water. After studying the water for a while, we headed back to see where we would be staying and got unpack. We had a hour to unwind and do whatever we wanted inside the lodge. Once free time was over, we had dinner. The main course that was served was spaghetti. After we stuffed our stomachs with food, we had 30-45 minutes of free time to get pajamas on and/or showered. After everybody was done, we went to the living room where Mr. Woolner read us a story about Blackbeard and how he died. While he was reading the story, we got to sneak peeks out of a window to see the Lunar Eclipse. When he eventually finish everybody went upstairs and grab their toothbrushes and toothpaste and brushed their teeth. Since everybody was exhausted after the story and getting to see the Lunar Eclipse, we all went to bed early to get some sleep because we were going hiking the next day.
