Location of Mount Cardigan

Mount Cardigan is located near the town of Orange, but northwest of the town Bristol. It is in the State forest and also close to the mountain called Firescrew.

The absolute location of the USGS survey plate at the summit of Cardigan is 43 degrees 38 minutes and 57.9 seconds north, also 71 degrees 54 minutes and 50.7 seconds west.

This is the USGS survey marker at the summit of Mount Cardigan.

The Place of Mount Cardigan

The physical geography of Cardigan Mountain is that the summit is rocky and windy. Along the mountain there are many streams and trickles of water that create mud, this water comes from the top and trickles it's way to the bottom. The summit is rocky and windy because a while ago there was a fire that burned down all the trees and exposed the rock that was underneath.

As well as having physical geography, Mount Cardigan has cultural geography. A couple examples are that people have built a lodge and some bridges. Also people have cut down trees to create ski trails and hiking trails. Those trail markers you see are not natural made but painted on by someone. The lodge is large and has many rooms. The lodge has four floors, the first is a mud room, the second is a dinning hall and sitting area, floors three and four are bunkrooms where the thrid is for girls sleeping space and the forth for boys sleeping space..

We were there for three days, Wednesday Day 1, Thursday Day 2, and Friday Day 3.
