Above is a picture of the top of Cardigan Mountain
To start off the end, Day 3 was the coolest. At the start of the day, I woke up immediately, with a good night's rest. The reason I woke up so fast, is because it was the day we were hiking cardigan. I went to change, and I wore under armour, polyester sweat pants, a soccer shirt, and hiking boots. That morning for breakfast, we had french toast and sausage. Our table had very few ORT (our remaining tidbits), so that was good. After breakfast, we assigned new instructors. My new instructor was Tabitha, and she was my favorite instructor. She was really swag, and outgoing. We assigned roles again, and I was leader once again. The same rules applied when I was leader last time with Hope. So after we assigned roles, we were off on the trail. We stopped at Dukes Meadow, and did a few sketches of an apple tree, some pine needles, and some leaves. We kept on the trail, but a few moments later we stumbled across a stone wall, wich is an example of human-enviornment interaction. and a line of huge trees, so we did some sketching. Some time later, we stopped for a snack break. Then after, there were lots of rocks. So we parkoured through them, just like nothing. Then it was steep. Everyone was complaining, moaning, and got tired. But after a while they got used to it. When we reached the top of the steep part, we had a water break. My legs were burning, but we had to keep going. Then I saw it. The one and only (not really) firescrew mountain. Everyone was hungry, but they wanted to wait until we reached the mountain. So we waited. And waited. And waited. When we were about half way, we saw a huge sign, windmills, and an extraordinary view. We did a quick sketch, and moved on. When we finally reached the top, we had lunch. We made lunch in the morning, and I packed a granola bar, a ham, cheese and mayo sandwich, and two cookies. When we were done, we continued again, but we switched roles. I was not the leader anymore, I gave my role to someone else. About a half an hour later, we reached cardigan. The rocks were super steep, but that didnot stop us. At the top, we did another sketch of the wonderful view. I also did a sketch or the fire tower at the top. It was really cold at the top, so I put in some more layers. We took some pics, and hung out there for a little while. When we were done, we split back into our groups. The way back down was pretty uneventful, though. When we got to the AMC lodge, my feet were burning. Later the bus arrived, so we hopped on and left. Day 3 was incredible!
