What is the main idea of the text? The main idea of the text is to learn about the west Indies and people who live there and we should do this because we are learning about the Caribbean region in geography class. And to also learn about how the West Indies developed and how it is independent from other country”s.

Questions pg. 219 #2,3 and 4. 2. What are three achileas that make up the West Indies? Achipelagos or groups of islands dot the Carribean sea. These islands are known as the west Indies. South of Flordia are the bahamas are archipelago of nearly 700 islands. This group includes the large island of Cuba.

3. Name four groups that influence the culture of the Carribean region? A native group called the Laino and other native Americans before the coming of the European spainards established the first permanant Eurapean settlement.
