Day two at Cardigan We woke up in our bedroom and we got dressed and then went down to breakfast. At breakfast we ate yummy food that the Cardigan cooks made for us. After breakfast we packed a lunch for a long hike up Firescrew and Cardigan. Then we met as a group to go hiking and along the way we had to do plot studies as the elevation got higher. A plot study is when you put out a ten by ten rope and made a square with the rope around the trees and shrubs and then gather info on the types of trees, the gps points and how many inches a tree was all the way around on the diameter and evidence of other living things. And then after our pilot studies, we kept hiking until we ate lunch on a rock. Then we kept hiking until we made it to the top. At the top of Firescrew mountain it was very windy. Then eventually we did another plot study on Mowglis trail. Then we took the Mowglis trail to the top of Mt.Cardigan. At the top of Cardigan it was windy as well. When we looked over to Firescrew we saw a helicopter landing on Firescrew. Then we went down the mountain which took forever. When we got to the bottom we had free time until 5:45. Then we got together as a group and talked about how we are going to set the tables. Then at 6:00 we ate dinner. After dinner we went to a campfire, at the campfire we did dances and then we did skits about how our day went, and Hope called a bard owl from the camp fire and Becka told us a story about how the stars got in the sky. After the campfire we went into the living room so Mr.Woolner could tell us a story about a lightning strike and how he likes being a seventh grade teacher. Then we went to bed.WHAT A GREAT TRIP!!!. The theme for today is Human Enviroment because when we got to the top of Firescrew it was windy and so our reaction was we put on a jacket to keep in body heat and to keep the wind out.
