My second day at Mount Cardigan was September 28th, we got up at roughly six a.m., for breakfast at seven. After breakfast we met up with our hiking groups and began the hike up Mount Cardigan to the summit. We took the Nature Trail, until we got to trail junction and stopped for some bonding activities then took the trail, straight. The day went by fast, it was long, tiring, and steep, since we were hiking up a ski trail, it got really steep, and the trail became narrow and was surrounded by ferns, and small bushes/plant life. Finally when we achieved going up the never ending hill, we stopped to do plot one, and sketched and collected information, in that amount of time we had gone half way up the mountain, and had crossed several bridges. This reminded me of human environment interaction because of the man made structures along the hike. Then we stopped at a ledge that had a beautiful view, although it was not the summit, and stopped to do a second plot and to sketch, and eat our lunch. Finally we had reached the summit a view of lots of blue/purple mountains stretched far in the distance, after looking around and sketching we took a group picture with all the session one students, and went our separate ways to began the journey down. It took us around four hours up the mountain considering it a 2.6 mile hike one way, and we began down the mountain, we literally ran down the Clark Ski Trail, because everyone wanted to still have free time when we got back, and we still stopped a few times to sketch and talk about the day so-far. When we got back to the lodge I was so exhausted from running to catch up with the group who were running down the mountain. Free time came then ended, after dinner we sat around a warm, cozy, campfire, talked about the day and Mr.Woolner read a story about his uncle, and bed came quickly. Everybody was ready for another adventure to happen tomorrow. I noticed human environment interaction this day because some of the man-made structures throughout the mountain.
