| These are all sketches that I drew during an activity called "Mystery of the Trees".(From left to right) 1. This is a Fire Cherry Tree (Prunus pensylvanica). 2. This is a Scots Pine Tree (Pinus sylvestris). The name of this tree is spelled incorrectly in my sketch. 3. This is an old car that my hiking group found in the woods. 4. This is a White Pine (Pinus strobus). 5. This is a Yellow Birch Tree (Betula alleghaniensis). |

Green group
On day 3 of our Cardigan trip we were roused early, and immediately began packing up our belongings, as it was our last day at the lodge. Then we brought our bags outside and onto the bus. Next, we headed down to breakfast for our final delicious meal in the lodge, and then made trail lunches for the day. After that we met once again with our groups, and set out on a walk/hike. We hiked for a few minutes, before reaching a campsite. There, we began a compass scavenger hunt, using compass coordinates to find trees that are, and then sketching them. Along the way, we also came across an old car, and a ski lift. Then we ate lunch, and our trip leader read us The Lorax. After that, we played camouflage in the woods. Too soon, it was time to head back to the lodge, where a bus was waiting to take us home. However, before we left, we smeared bear feces on our faces, and some of my groupmates ate crickets. Then we got on the bus and left the Mount Cardigan region, and went back to our home town of Hopkinton (this is an example of how we visited different regions on our trip).
