This is one of the sketchable things we found on the hike back to lodge, it is a beech nut.
Day 1 at cardigan was a downpour, making enclosed spaces really miserable. Out of that whole day I bet that many would say that the bus ride was the worse. The vast majority of us had to sit three to a seat and considering that some of us had hung out in the rain for a couple minutes and then coming in with a drenched rain coat did not help matters. After the bus ride was over and all had filed into the building, even then it was a fight for space. Kids were racing inside to take of their boots and shoes and rush up stairs to the comfy living and dining room leaving some off the other kids jumping around trying to take off their other boot. Once everybody was settled in, we were introduced to our group leaders and chaperones and played some games. We were then told our room numbers and roommates(which many already knew) and had 15 minutes or so to get settled in. We then went down to our group meeting spots(previously told to us) and learned what we were doing for the day. I was with Hope and we were doing water studies. We went to a nearby rushing stream which had been almost nothing the day before. We then did some studies on the water and found some salamanders in the process. We were then sent out to collect as much wildlife as possible while half the group hit the jackpot on animals I hit the jackpot with fungi(yay). We then walked back to the lodge collecting several sketching specimens. When we reached the lodge all in my group sketched at least three things and then continued on to free time, then dinner. Not long after dinner Mr. Woolner read all of the grade a nighttime story about Blackbeard the pirate. We were all afterwards sent to bed. This day also represented the theme of geography, movement. Movement is the movement of any person thing and/or ideas. This happened a couple times on this day day not only by people and things that I know, but also of several other things that I may have no clue about.
