Morning

I woke up to the smell of hot cocoa every morning I woke up at the AMC lodge. I loved waking up getting dressed and going downstairs and hearing BS or PEANUT BUTTER! And I know what it seems yes it's called BS but I call it peanut butter. Anyways we got seated for breakfast shortly after about one or two hours. Our first meal was pancakes! Everyone dug in and then after we had our second (Oh ah! Ort report I said oh ah) Ort Report (shakey shakey). With a score of 4.6. Soon after they had us make lunches and announced there was another group leader that some people would go with. Her name was Tabitha. But she wanted us to call her Tabby. She called off the names of her group members and told them to roar like a dinosaur. Turns out I was with her! She told us all to pack our lunches and snacks for the hike up Mt. Firescrew and Mt. Cardigan. Then after she told us to go get ready for hiking.

Afternoon

I came back downstairs and met with my group in the living area. We did some more introductions and assigned roles. I was the first navigator. I held the map and walked up front with the leader. We walked for about 30 mins when Mr. Woolner saw something interesting. He saw a hemlock, sugar maple, and a juniper bush in an overgrown field. We walked on after another 30 mins, We took a lot of brakes and to be honest I was not doing so hot. I was falling behind and I definitely realized it and so did the rest of the kids and adults in that group. Mr. Woolner, Mr. Campbell, and Rory all carried my bag when I could not. I could not feel more embarrassed. It was nice but, it is kind of embarrassing in middle school to have that happen. We got to the top of Firescrew and I wanted to just lay down. And I got the chance to while we had lunch. Then we got to the top of cardigan and I got a jump summit shot with Emma. It was about a 4 hour hike. We had to move a lot. We headed back down and got back to lodge around 4:00.

Evening

We got back to the lodge and settled down for dinner. My group had set up dinner and got to be seated first. Then we got an announcement that there was going to be a bonfire that night. We got another (Oh ah! Ort report I said oh ah) Ort Report (shakey shakey) with a score of 4.7. Shortly after we went outside and sat down at the bonfire. Tabitha told us a story about the dinosaurs and how they left the Earth. Apparently the Hummingbird saved them all by poking holes in the big black blanket over the sky wink wink. Also, you know how the vulture is bald right? Well apparently when the big black blanket in the sky covered the sky the vulture tried to poke a big hole in it with his head. But he got stuck. And all the sun and heat that was trapped up there burned all the feathers off his head and gave him a big, red, bald head. We also tried a barred owl call. It wasn not responsive. After we went back into the AMC lodge. And settled in for the night. And quickly went to sleep.
